About 100 people at the start of the first Swim’n’Rum competition.
Cheers, hustle adn bustle and lot of sportiness was the one of the most noticeable thing on Sunday in Port Görlitz.
When the team of organizers around a trhiatlon world champion Philipp-Johannes Müller from Europamarathonverein association announced the first edition of the 15 ° Swim’n’Run competition, they gatherd nearly 100 participants. They came from neighbourhood but also from Bautzen, Ottendorf-Okrilla or Berlin.
The Port in Görlitz proved to be the perfect place for such a competition which is about swimming and running. Not only becaouse the sportmans could easily leave the water over the slipway. The scenery was also suitable for looker-ons becaouse they could be closer to the atheltes and cheer them on.
After the successful start, the organizers are plannig a continuation in the next year. And there are already concrete ideas, how to encourage participants to make them more in 2019.
