In Rauschwalde a very special project is starting this year. The block Arthur-Ullrich-Street 10 to 16 is completely renovated and gets a completely new look. Most noticeable will be the addition of arcades on all floors on the street side – a bit like Jonas-Cohn-Straße in Weinhübel, but further developed and improved. KommWohnen architect Alexander Sommer has developed a completely new, modern concept that makes living for seniors and families equally attractive. Criticisms of the “Görlitzer House” in Weinhübel – such as the view from the arcade into the apartments, the elevator tower in front of the house or the initially unprotected entrances in the attic – have been incorporated into the new variant and now have better solutions. For example, there are windows above head height and an inside elevator to the arcade. The now planned form and improvement of the “Görlitzer House” is to be known as the “Sommer-House”.
After the renovation, the block has five different types of apartment: 2, 3 and 4 room apartments, the former about 52 square meters, the second about 63 and the latter 76 to 110 square meters. On the ground floor there are large family apartments, which not only have direct access to their own garden, but also to their own large cellar.
The accommodation units on the four upper floors are all senior-friendly, have a shower on the same floor and a large XXL balcony. In addition, there is a small storage space at the entrance of each apartment, for example for a rollator. Extra: The apartments near the elevator have a small extra dressing room. This saves huge cupboards right in the bedroom.
Access to the block will be regulated completely differently in the future. The new barrier-free main entrance is then in house number 12. There you go to the elevator, via which all floors are accessible. The entrances numbered 10 and 14 lead to the staircases. The five arcades on the individual floors are the entrances to the apartments. All in all, the block has only one house number and becomes Arthur-Ullrich-Street 16.
The building equipment (electrical, heating, ventilation, sanitary, media) for the entire house is housed in the basement. For prams, bicycles and the like there is a spacious storage room right next to the elevator. The gable of the block gets panoramic windows and thus a completely new look.
